Downtown Louisville education building could become 431-bed student housing complex under $63 million redevelopment proposal.

Indianapolis-based Ghoman Group is planning a JW Marriott hotel in the 26-story 401 S. 4th Street Tower, formerly the Brown & Williamson Tower.

The 26-story tower is expected to be converted into a 418 room hotel with a ballroom and event spaces near Fourth Street Live! 

A downtown Louisville development committee approved a permit application to demolish the former EMW Women's Surgical Center as a 27-story hotel project begins to take shape.

The Louisville Gardens will be transformed into a sound stage for filmmakers. 

Brown Bros. Cadillac dealership closed in mid-February of 2021 after more than 75 years in business.

The site is the former location of the EMW Women's Surgical Center that closed in 2022.

Aa demolition permit was filed with city government in August 2023.

CBRE, the listing agent, says the site is one of the largest available for redevelopment in downtown Louisville.
