Thursday, a Louisville café, Sis Got Tea, hosted an expungement clinic where law students helped guide people seeking help with their record.
Those in attendance got free legal advice, and, if they were eligible, Goodwill started the expungement process.
The person whose charges were expunged would be notified.
The result of House bill 417, if it passes, would clear the criminal records for thousands of eligible people who were convicted of traffic, misdemeanor and some non-violent felony cases.

The unanimous ruling allows indigent people who were convicted of traffic, misdemeanor and some non-violent felony cases to have them cleaned from their record without paying a $50 filing fee and $250 expungement cost.
Juveniles who commit crimes that are considered misdemeanors in adult court would have their record automatically expunged. A judge would have the final say in clearing a record, though.
Hardin Memorial Health was the first employer to participate in the program.
