The former chief of the West Buechel Police Department who resigned after an investigation has been fired from his new job at the Breckinridge County Sheriff's Department after just two weeks on the job.

James Sherrard resigned as West Buechel's police chief in May after he was suspended for misconduct.

"It is with deep regret that I will be resigning my position as the Chief of Police for the City of West Buechel," James Sherrard wrote in the letter, dated May 7.

Several sources confirmed to WDRB News that the city has launched an investigation into Chief James Sherrard.
