No injuries were reported after a building fire in southern Indiana Friday evening. 

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined. 

A friend of the family said Patrick Timmy Grimes passed away due to medical complications.

A natural gas leak inside the home caused the explosion last week that rocked a Jeffersonville neighborhood and hospitalized five people with life-threatening injuries.

Jeffersonville Police said preliminary findings have "yielded no evidence of malicious intent." It's unclear if all five people injured were residents of the home.

The primary obstacle arose when Clark County Commissioners dissolved the Utica Fire Protection Board just one day before the scheduled vote.

The fallout could cost taxpayers up to $30 million and potentially increase property taxes by as much as 30%.

Wednesday, the Board of Public Works and Safety approved the Automatic Aid Agreement.
