All lanes of Interstate 65 south were blocked Sunday evening just after the Kennedy Bridge after a semi crash.
Police said the woman got out of the car with her son after the crash and started running with him on the busy interstate.
The 18-year-old woman was arraigned on Friday.
The child's mother is facing several charges, including vehicular homicide, DUI, and wanton endangerment.
There were three vehicles involved.
Police said a 2015 GMC Acadia driven by Laurie Hahn, 49, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 150. James Foster was riding a motorcycle westbound when the GMC Acadia crossed the center line and collided.
The coroner has identified the 54-year-old man who was killed.
