LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after crashing into a semi on Interstate 71 South early Saturday morning.

Dwight Mitchell, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a crash at about 3 a.m. on I-71 South near Zorn Avenue.

Police said a truck crashed into a semi as both units were southbound on I-71. The semi was stopped in traffic because another semi had rolled over, according to police.

The driver of the truck died on the scene and the driver of the semi was taken to UofL Hospital out of precaution, police said.
