LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man Louisville police believe was involved in at least two sexual assaults was arrested Friday.Â
Calling him a 'dangerous individual," Louisville Metro Police in a news release that Huber Iran Argello-Aguilar, 25, was taken into custody with the help of its Air, Fugitive and SWAT units.
Argello-Aguilar was charged with sodomy, wanton endangerment, rape, assault, unlawful imprisonment and menacing.Â
LMPD shared an arrest warrant for a July 28 attack on a woman that happened in Jefferson County. The graphic details of the complaint stated that Argello-Aguilar offered the woman a ride. Once in the vehicle, he allegedly held a knife to her throat and demanded a sex act.Â
The woman escaped after seeing police lights and flagged down officers, according to the complaint. She told police what happened. And told investigators that Argello-Aguilar was a stranger.
Argello-Aguilar was detained at the time and taken to LMPD's Office of Sexual and Physical Investigations. He was swabbed for the victim's DNA, which was found on his body.Â
"These charges stem from heinous crimes that have deeply impacted victims and our community. We are committed to ensuring justice and maintaining the safety of Louisville’s residents," LMPD said in a statement.
Louisville police said the investigation is active and additional charges could be filed.Â
