LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A child is dead and a juvenile was arrested after a multi-car crash Sunday afternoon near Iroquois High School.

According to LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis, it happened on Taylor Boulevard around 3 p.m. Police said the driver ran off the road and hit a utility pole.

After hitting the pole, the car crossed over the lanes, hitting a car going south head-on.

That caused the driver of the car that was hit to then run into another vehicle that was parked off the roadway.

A young girl died at the hospital. A woman was also taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.

The driver and passenger of the first car left the scene before officers arrived.

LMPD eventually located the driver, a juvenile and arrested him. The passenger still not been found.
