Most notably, the city said it would require any large-scale data center to be built at least 500 feet away from "sensitive uses," including existing homes, hospitals, nursing homes, childcare centers and schools.

The temporary pause would give the New Albany City Council and the city’s planning and zoning department time to review whether current zoning regulations adequately address future data center proposals.
