Okolona Fire Chief Mark Little said the last month has been chaotic, but there's still fire officials on site where the plane crashed.

It happened in the 6500 block of Bardstown Road around 8:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from a 2-story apartment with people trapped on the second floor balcony.

The cause is under investigation. 

The fire at the West Rock Recycling Center on Industrial Boulevard began around 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening and crews continued work it throughout the night.
