Work is scheduled to start this week on the much-awaited widening of the I-264 highway between Westport Road and I-71.

The work is expected to be completed by June 27.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said an overnight ramp closure on I-71 north and lane closures on I-264 west on Monday in Jefferson County.

Earlier this month, Louisville Water launched a multi-year project to rehabilitate a 130-year-old water main along Oak and Dumesnil streets.

Last year, the city proposed changes to a 3-mile stretch of Brownsboro Road from Mellwood Avenue to Chenoweth Lane. 

Beginning Tuesday, May 28 at 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 29, Interstate 265 north will be cut down to one lane from Interstate 64 to Exit 27, Shelbyville Road. 

Oldham County Dispatch said 10 to 12 cars ended up on the side of the highway of I-71 south with flat tires.

This week, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet begins construction on a Double Crossover Diamond interchange where Cedar Grove Road (KY 480) meets I-65.

During the lane closures, crews will perform routine maintenance on the Gene Snyder Freeway.
