River City FOP Lodge No. 614 and Jeffersontown FOP Lodge No. 26 delivered gifts to children at the hospital in downtown Louisville.
However, the River City Fraternal Order of Police says movement on a new contract for the department's higher ranks is a good sign for the rest of LMPD.
Approximately 70% of the officers voted against the contract.
The contracts approved by Mayor Greg Fischer and the River City FOP head must be ratified by police union members and the Metro Council.
The summit was held just days before the one-year anniversary of Breonna Taylor's death.
The FOP president would like the city to hire more than 500 additional officers.
Officer Martez Hughes, 49, died while off duty Thursday after he went into medical distress while playing tennis at Chickasaw Park.
Council has long voted on the contracts, including a one-year deal that was approved Nov. 5 and gave more than 1,000 officers raises.
LMPD's union says the new ad is proof positive of a problem Louisville needs to remedy.
The FOP President also addressed one group's problems with the contract.
