Susan Rademacher, a former president of Louisville’s Olmsted Parks Conservancy, will become executive director of the River Heritage Conservancy this week.

Martin has been executive director of the River Heritage Conservancy since 2017. He'll be replaced by Susan Rademacher, a former president of the Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy. 

An economic and health impact report for the proposed southern Indiana park also indicates that an ‘outdoor adventure center’ is being considered   

New Albany is concerned that 'there had been inadequate study of the possible impacts of removing the low head dam,' Mayor Jeff Gahan wrote in a June 14 letter to residents near the creek. 

The River Heritage Conservancy says a 4.5-mile 'blueway' is the first project in the ambitious, $130 million Origin Park that would reshape southern Indiana riverfront into a public space more than six times larger than Louisville’s Waterfront Park. 

The River Heritage Conservancy expects fundraising for the park’s first elements to start in 2021, including working with potential donors and governments.

A master plan for the roughly 400-acre project is could be released later this year.
