A 16-year-old male juvenile has been arrested and charged with terroristic threatening after allegedly posting a threat against Marion County High School.
In a letter to families, the school's principal said students and staff told the school about a threat posted online overnight.
Principal Chris Burba said in a letter to families provided by JCPS that school officials were alerted Monday to a social media post “using racist language and including and possible threat against our Highland community.”
The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office is looking at possible charges against the teen.
Seneca High School and Oldham County Middle School in Kentucky and Scribner Middle School in Indiana all had threats this week.
In a post on the school's website, administrators say they, along with Oldham County Police, were made aware of a possible threat against the middle school that had allegedly been circulating several social media platforms.
It was the third threat against Floyd County Schools in less than a week.
The news came in a statement made Tuesday night by Scott County School District 1.
