LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with terroristic threatening after allegedly posting a threat against Marion County High School.Â
Kentucky State Police said in a news release Monday that troopers made the arrest after joining the investigation at the request of the Lebanon Police Department.Â
Marion County Public Schools officials decided to cancel classes Monday after becoming aware of the social media posts which contained violent threats that were made on Sunday evening.
In a Facebook post, the district said classes were canceled "out of an abundance of caution."Â
Officials in Hardin County also investigated a similar threat against students and staff at TK Stone Middle School in Elizabethtown. A social media post from the district indicated the threat was "non-credible" and has been circulated to other districts throughout the state.Â
