Neighbors stepped in to help an 85-year-old Louisville woman after strong winds uprooted a tree that now threatens her home.

In the town of South Boston, what once was a trailer home now lies in pieces scattered across a field.

There were multiple tornado warnings, as the storms moved through. 

There's also been reports of downed trees in the area.

Teams from the National Weather Service in Louisville have been in multiple counties assessing damage.

Highway 36 will remain closed to all traffic except residents and emergency responders

Strong storms moved through parts of southern Indiana on Thursday afternoon. 

In Louisville, downed trees were being reported, including a large tree down on Bardstown Road in the Highlands.

Paoli Community Schools canceled classes, and several other districts were on a 2-hour delay.
