The police union hosted a 'Corrections Crisis Labor Summit' on Tuesday evening at the Louisville Central Community Center.
In 2020, the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections lost 62 employees. In 2021 alone, it has already lost 19 employees.
The officer last worked a shift on March 24, according to a news release sent by the city Wednesday, and he was tested the next day after experiencing symptoms.
The employee claims Tracy Dotson would only help get a shift she wanted when she sent him explicit photos of herself.
The wage freeze request came after Metro Council voted to cut the budget instead of raising the insurance premium tax to fill a $35 million budget hole caused primarily by rising pension costs.
Representatives of Louisville Fire and EMS, as well as Louisville Metro Corrections, say their departments will likely suffer when cuts are made.
It was all a part of FOP Lodge 77's Coat-a-Kid program.
"I would never tell anyone when and where to protest, but I think for that voice to be heard it just needs to be directed at the voice that needs to hear it," Tracy Dotson said.
