Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public to always wear a life jacket when on or around the water. 

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said the woman made a frantic call to 911 about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13. 

On Monday at 3 p.m., the Santa Claus Police Department responded to reports of a man missing in the water.

A judge on Tuesday dismissed criminal charges against three men prosecuted after a tourist boat sank and killed 17 people during a 2018 Missouri storm.

Police said that when a deputy tried to take the suspect into custody, he "fled and jumped into the White River."

Authorities say he is lucky to be alive.

John Vausha, 62, was pulled from his vehicle by Indiana conservation officers and was airlifted to Harrison County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The search for a missing 9-year-old boy ended tragically late last night when he was found dead.
