LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The body of a swimmer was recovered from Patoka Lake in southern Indiana on Sunday evening.
In a news release, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said Orange County dispatch was notified at 6 p.m. about a male that disappeared in the water near the Painter Creek boat ramp.
Divers from the DNR Division of Law Enforcement recovered the body just after 8 p.m. using sonar.
DNR identified the man as 24-year-old Axel Richardson of Indianapolis.
Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public to always wear a life jacket when on or around the water.
