Arnold Jackson and DeVante Parker

Arnold Jackson (10) and DeVante Parker are former Louisville receivers who will have their jerseys honored at University of Louisville football gams this season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two of the most dynamic wide receivers in Louisville football history — and standout members of the program's famed AFROS (America's Fastest Receivers on Saturdays) — will have their jerseys honored this fall at L&N Stadium.

Arnold Jackson, who rewrote the U of L record books from 1997 to 2000, will be recognized during the Cardinals' Nov. 14 Friday night clash against Clemson.

On Nov. 29, it's DeVante Parker's turn, as the Louisville native and NFL first-round pick will be honored when rival Kentucky comes to town.

Before spread offenses became the norm, Jackson was already putting up video game numbers. He remains Louisville's all-time leader in both receptions (300) and receiving yards (3,670) and was the first player in NCAA history to reach 300 career catches.

The Jacksonville, Florida, native led Conference USA in receptions in both 1998 and 1999, including a school-record 101 grabs for 1,209 yards and nine touchdowns in 1999. That season, Jackson ranked fourth nationally in catches per game (9.18) and still holds the school record for receptions in a single game (15 vs. Cincinnati).

Though undrafted, Jackson went on to play two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL.

From Ballard High School to Cardinal Stadium and beyond, Parker brought highlight-reel athleticism to the Louisville offense. He caught 156 passes for 2,775 yards and is tied for the school record with 33 receiving touchdowns.

Parker's 2013 season was his breakout moment — 885 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning him first-team All-AAC honors and a win over Miami in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Despite missing seven games due to injury in 2014, he still posted 855 yards and five scores in his senior season.

The Miami Dolphins made him the No. 14 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent nine seasons in the league, catching more than 400 passes for over 5,600 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Both players embodied the AFROS identity and helped elevate Louisville's national profile during their time. Their jersey recognitions this fall will be more than ceremonial — they'll serve as a celebration of two receivers whose legacies are written all over the Cardinals' record books.
