LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville basketball’s biggest offseason addition is officially on board.
Kansas transfer Flory Bidunga, who committed to the Cardinals in April while testing the NBA Draft process, has signed with Louisville and is expected to withdraw from draft consideration, according to reports from CBS Sports and 247Sports.
The decision gives coach Pat Kelsey one of the nation’s top transfer classes — and gives Louisville the frontcourt anchor it had been waiting on.
Bidunga, a 6-foot-10 forward/center, went through the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, where his measurements and athleticism remained eye-opening. He measured 6-foot-7.75 without shoes, 228.6 pounds, with a 7-foot-3.25 wingspan and 8-foot-10.5 standing reach.Â
But while Bidunga showed the physical tools that made him one of the top names in the transfer portal, his offensive game remains a work in progress. That made a return to college basketball — and a featured role at Louisville — the most sensible next step.

Bidunga was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Big 12 selection last season at Kansas. He averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and a Big 12-best 2.6 blocked shots per game while shooting 64% from the field.Â
His signing completes a major piece of Louisville’s roster rebuild.
The Cardinals’ incoming high school class includes 7-foot Obinna Ekezie Jr., 6-8 forward Boyuan Zhang and 6-1 guard Isaac Ellis.
Louisville’s transfer class includes Bidunga, Oregon's Jackson Shelstad, USC's Gabe Dynes, Dayton guard De’Shayne Montgomery, Iowa forward Alvaro Folgueiras, and Arkansas swingman Karter Knox. The Cardinals also return Adrian Wooley and London Johnson.
