LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On the day news broke that Louisville will hire College of Charleston's Pat Kelsey as basketball coach, two more Cardinals told On3Sports that they will go into the transfer portal.
Huntley-Hatfield, a 6-foot-10-inch junior from Clarksville, Tennessee, who transferred to Louisville from Tennessee before Kenny Payne's first season, was Louisville's most-improved player and arguably its best in 2023-24, averaging 12.9 points per game — second-best on the team — and a team-leading 8.4 rebounds per contest.
He was a four-star recruit for Tennessee coach Rick Barnes.
White, a 6-foot-7-inch sophomore, who transferred from USC, averaged 12.3 points and just under 6 rebounds per contest.
They are the ninth and 10th players to enter the portal from Louisville since the dismissal of Payne. Freshmen Kaleb Glenn, Dennis Evans and Curtis Williams have filed paperwork, along with senior JJ Traynor and junior transfer Danilo Jovanovich. Skyy Clark announced his transfer on Monday and Mike James on Tuesday, while Koron Davis, who was dismissed from the program just before Christmas, announced his intention to transfer shortly after the season ended.
The only regular contributor remaining on Louisville's team that have not graduated or gone into the portal are point guard Ty-Laur Johnson and post player Emmanuel Okorafor.
