LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tailgate planning can commence. Pack plenty of ice and liquids.
Kickoff times continue to trickle out for football games at the University of Louisville and Indiana — and the forecast figures to be hot.
On Thursday, times were announced for three more Cardinals' games as well as Indiana's first three games.
Louisville will open the 2024 season at noon Aug. 31 against FCS opponent Austin Peay. The Governors finished 9-3 but were the undefeated (6-0) champions of the United Athletic Conference.
The following week, at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 7, Jeff Brohm's squad will host Jacksonville State at L&N Cardinal Stadium. The game will be televised by the ACC Network Extra.
Jacksonville State went 9-4 last season, finishing third in Conference USA. The Gamecocks defeated Western Kentucky, 20-17, and only lost by 10 points at South Carolina.
The other game with a settled time and TV network is Louisville's trip to Boston College. That game will played at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, and air on ESPN2.
The Hoosiers will kick off the Frank Cignetti Era on Aug. 31 with a 3:30 p.m. game against Florida International at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
Six days later, on Sept. 6, IU will host Western Illinois on a Friday game at 7 p.m. That is the game IU added after the Hoosiers bought their way out of the final two games of a contracted three-game series with Louisville.
On Sept. 14, the Hoosiers will travel to Pasadena, California, to play their first game against new Big Ten member UCLA. That game will start at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) and air on NBC Sports and Peacock.
It will be Indiana's first appearance at the Rose Bowl since Jan. 1, 1968, when the Hoosiers won the Big Ten title and lost to USC in the Rose Bowl, 14-3.
