LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The 2024-25 college basketball season won’t end until Monday night in San Antonio, but it’s already apparent which team will have the best backcourt in the game next season:

The University of Louisville.

One day after the Cards received a commitment from Kennesaw State guard Adrian Wooley, coach Pat Kelsey received another big pledge Tuesday night:

Xavier guard Ryan Conwell, a third-team all-Big East performer for coach Sean Miller, committed to the Cards, according to a post on X by Jonathan Givony of ESPN. Conwell is ranked the 14th best player in the portal by ON3 Sports, while Wooley is No. 6.

Conwell and Wooley will join a backcourt that will also include prep point guard Mikel Brown Jr., a McDonald’s all-American. Conwell is 6 feet 4, 195 pounds while Wooley is 6-5, 180.

Conwell, a product of Pike High School in Indianapolis, averaged 16.5 points at Xavier last season making better than 41% of his shots from distance. He picked UofL over Indiana, Texas and other schools. Conwell scored 38 points, making seven three-point shots, against Marquette in the Big East Tournament.

After starting his career at South Florida, Conwell played one year at Indiana State and then at Xavier. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
