LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville men’s basketball team will honor Junior Bridgeman and the 1975 Final Four team during halftime of Saturday’s game against Memphis.
Bridgeman’s No. 10 jersey will be the sixth retired in Louisville men’s basketball history, joining Russ Smith and Wes Unseld.
Louisville Athletics will give away 10,000 commemorative tickets featuring Bridgeman on one side and the 1974-75 team on the other.
The game tips off at 3:30 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center. Tickets are available online and for pick-up behind Section 101 or at the 300-level escalator while supplies last.
Fans can also buy a limited-edition Yeti tumbler and a small number of Junior Bridgeman No. 10 shirts. A portion of the proceeds from both will support the West End School.
Bridgeman helped lead Louisville to the 1975 NCAA Final Four and made a school record when he scored 36 points against Rutgers in the tournament. He went on to a 12-year NBA career and later became a businessman, philanthropist and minority owner of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Saturday’s halftime celebration marks the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Final Four team and honors Bridgeman’s impact on and off the court.
