LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville City FC visited Birmingham, trying to avoid its first losing streak of the season, coming off just its third defeat last Saturday at home.
The game went scoreless early in the second half until Sam Gleadle headed home the service from Wilson Harris at the 51st minute tally, getting City on the board.
Then, a break in the 58th minute off a corner, a little pressure on the keeper, he lets the ball slip through his gloved finger, and Harris is there to accept the gift to make it 2-0.
Ray Serrano, off the free kick, bent into the side netting, making it 3-0 in the 80th minute.
Each team added one more goal, resulting in a resounding 4-1 road win for the boys.
"It's the best attacking group I have been apart of," Gleadle said. "I think we are very versatile, we have guys that like to drop deep and get the ball, we have guys who like to run in behind and a little bit of both. And I'm enjoying it a lot, and I know all the guys, we are all happy when somebody scores, and that is kind of the mentality that we have and the freedom we have and hopefully we can keep it going for the 2nd half of the season."
