LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The University of Louisville men's basketball team will open play in the 2026 Players Era tournament against Texas Tech in Las Vegas.
The Cardinals and Red Raiders are scheduled to meet Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Michelob ULTRA Arena as part of the 16-team Thanksgiving week event.
Louisville is guaranteed three games in the tournament, which runs Nov. 24-28, with the championship game set for Saturday, Nov. 28, at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
The Cardinals are on the same side of the bracket as Tennessee, Maryland, San Diego State, Iowa State, St. John's, Oregon and Texas Tech. Louisville is 0-2 all-time against Texas Tech, with both previous meetings coming on neutral courts.
The other side of the bracket includes Gonzaga, Kansas State, Baylor, Alabama, Michigan, Creighton, TCU and Miami.
Louisville's potential second-round matchup would come against either St. John's or Oregon.
Game times, television assignments and ticket information will be announced later. All 37 games in the event are expected to air on ESPN networks.
