LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Racing Louisville FC locked in one of the NWSL's premier midfielders, announcing Tuesday that Taylor Flint signed a new contract to remain with the club through the 2028 season.
Flint is in the midst of a standout campaign, earning two nominations for NWSL Player of the Week and a spot on the league's Best XI for May. Her performances have helped lead Racing to its strongest start in club history — 20 points through 13 matches — positioning the team seventh in the standings and in playoff contention.
"Re-signing with Racing felt like the right decision on every level. I'm proud of the soccer I'm playing, I believe in this team, and I want to be part of what we're building," Flint said. "Over the last few years, my husband and I have made a life here — the way the city embraced us, the people we've met, the support we've felt — it all made this feel like home. That made the choice easy."

At 26, Flint has already matched her career high with three goals on the season along with one assist. But her influence extends far beyond the scoresheet.
She ranks among the NWSL's best in multiple defensive categories — leading the league in interceptions and aerial duels, second in both tackles and tackles won, sixth in blocks, and seventh in dribblers tackled.
"We're confident we've built an environment where players not only want to be but can also thrive," said Racing general manager Caitlyn Flores Milby. "Taylor is playing the best soccer of her career here, and we're proud to have been part of her growth. We're thrilled she's chosen to remain in Louisville, with this signing a major step toward establishing a winning foundation for years to come."
Flint arrived in Louisville via trade in January 2024 from the San Diego Wave, with Racing sending $150,000 in allocation money in return. She made an immediate impact in her debut season, scoring three goals and adding an assist — totals she's already matched in 2025.
"Taylor has been a pivotal part of our team for the past two seasons. Her work ethic and professionalism have been so influential to the group's success," said Racing head coach Bev Yanez. "It was a priority for us to re-sign her and we are so grateful she will be back in lavender."
Before her time in Louisville, Flint spent two seasons with San Diego and one with the Orlando Pride. She also played on loan with MSV Duisburg in Germany.
Internationally, she has earned 12 caps for the U.S. Women's National Team, scoring twice, most recently in 2023.
A Nevada native, Flint (formerly Kornieck) starred at the University of Colorado, where she became the school's all-time assists leader and ranked second in career goals. She was a four-time All-Pac-12 selection, a Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, and an All-American, helping guide the Buffaloes to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
