LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An assistant coach at the University of Kentucky has been suspended pending an investigation.
University spokesperson Jay Blanton said Hakon DeVries, an assistant track and cross-country coach, has been suspended with pay.
DeVries has worked as an assistant coach since the 2012-13 season.
His suspension comes on the heels of longtime swim coach Lars Jorgensen, who resigned in June 2023 amid a federal sexual abuse lawsuit involving former UK swimmers. That case is set to go to trial in June 2026 in Lexington.
The university said it takes reports of inappropriate behavior seriously, but did not comment further. The nature of the allegations against DeVries is not known at this time.
