LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz went through the portal like a drive-thru Tuesday, and came out with two McDonald’s All-Americans.

Hours after announcing the commitment of NC State transfer Zamareya Jones, Louisville announced the addition of Tennessee transfer Deniya Prawl.

Prawl, a 6-foot-2 guard and former McDonald’s All-American out of IMG Academy, arrives in Louisville after one season with the Lady Vols where she showed flashes of the versatility that made her one of the nation’s top recruits.

"Deniya Prawl is going to be an outstanding addition to our program," Walz said. "She’s a versatile guard with the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Her length and athleticism allow her to defend multiple positions, and offensively she can score from the perimeter and attack the basket."

As a freshman at Tennessee, Prawl appeared in 29 games with seven starts, averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 41.3% from the field. She recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Missouri and delivered a nine-point, four-steal performance in a win over No. 11 Kentucky. She also shot a perfect 4-for-4 in a nine-point outing against No. 11 Oklahoma.

Before college, Prawl built an elite résumé at IMG Academy, leading the program to back-to-back appearances in the Chipotle Nationals championship game, including a title as a senior. She earned McDonald’s All-American honors and competed in the Jordan Brand Classic.

Internationally, Prawl represented Canada, winning a silver medal at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup and later earning a spot on the World Team for the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit.

For Louisville, she brings size on the perimeter, defensive flexibility and long-term upside — all traits that fit Walz’s evolving roster as the Cardinals look to build on another Sweet 16 season.
