LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 7th annual Wheelchair Rugby Invitational is underway in Louisville.
The group Paralyzed Veterans of America is hosting the tournament this weekend. Eighteen teams are competing in three divisions in a round-robin style competition. The winner of each division gets the PVA's Code of Honor Cup.
The tournament started Thursday night with a scrimmage.
Veteran Joel Rodriguez was injured in 2014. He said he looks forward to the tournament.
"The competition, of course, being a competitor. I'm a competitor at home, and I'm a competitor here. But also outside of that definitely the camaraderie and seeing friends I haven't seen since last year," Rodriguez said.
The tournament runs through Sunday at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
