LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Big Four Pedestrian Bridge is closed for the rest of the day.
The walking bridge closed at 11 a.m. It will remain closed until 5 p.m.
The closure is to allow pilots time to safely practice for Saturday's Thunder Over Louisville air show. The bridge will close again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until midnight.
Access to the bridge is being restricted due to safety operations. Signs are posted letting people know about the closure and restrictions.
The 2nd Street Bridge in downtown Louisville closed Thursday so crews from Zambelli Fireworks could could put fireworks and fiber optic cable in place. It is scheduled to reopen by 2 p.m. Sunday.
