Ford Motor Co. has made significant progress in reaching a deal with the United Auto Workers union, sparing the company from an escalation in the union's week-old strike.
An additional 7,000 members will walk off the job at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant, which produces the Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Police Interceptor SUVs; and at General Motor’s Lansing Delta Township Assembly in Michigan, which produces the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse.
A week after Kentucky Truck Plant went on strike, Ford’s other Louisville plant continues work as usual, despite its reliance on Kentucky Truck for stamped parts that go into the Escape and Lincoln Corsair crossovers.
