In this episode of Crossroads, host Dalton Godbey explores the natural beauty, high-speed thrills, and handcrafted spirits that define Bullitt County.
The journey begins at the iconic Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, where Dalton walks the peaceful trails, learns about the park’s history, and visits the famous Forest Giants — massive sculptures nestled among the trees that add a touch of magic to the landscape.
Next, Dalton heads to Kart Kountry in Shepherdsville to test his skills on the world’s longest go-kart track. After hitting top speed, he cools down with some swings in the batting cage, putt-putt and a few games in the arcade.
Then it’s time to slow down and savor the local flavor with a trip along Bullitt County’s Wine, Whiskey & Ale Trail. First stop: Four Roses Warehouse & Bottling Facility, where Dalton chats with Master Distiller Brent Elliott and samples some iconic Kentucky bourbon. The trail continues through a lineup of charming wineries — Forest Edge Winery, Brooks Hill Winery, Millanova Winery, and Wight-Meyer Vineyards & Winery — each offering unique pours and scenic views. The day ends with a burger and a beer flight at Gallant Fox Brewing, wrapping up this Bullitt County experience.
From forest trails to tasting trails, this episode has it all.
