In this episode of Crossroads, host Dalton Godbey heads to Lake Cumberland for a weekend adventure packed with classic Kentucky sights, outdoor fun, and plenty of great food.
The trip begins in Russell Springs at The Springs Diner, a beloved old-school breakfast spot known for hearty plates and a Southern favorite — rich, homemade chocolate gravy.
Just across the street, Dalton steps into a gearhead’s dream at Stephens Classic Cars, where more than a century of automotive history is on display. From vintage classics to powerful muscle cars, the museum offers a rare look at the evolution of American automobiles.
Next, Dalton hits the links at Lakewood Country Club, playing a few relaxing holes before heading out onto the water for the real Lake Cumberland experience.
Out on the lake, Dalton learns about the history and scale of one of Kentucky’s most famous recreational destinations while cruising by boat toward Rowena Marina, where a stop at Rowena View Café delivers great food with unforgettable lake views.
The adventure continues with a high-speed ride around the lake on a jet ski, followed by a fishing trip targeting striped bass with Morgan’s Striper Guide Service, one of the premier fishing guides on Lake Cumberland.
After a night of rest at a lakeside cabin, the next morning begins with breakfast and scenic views at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park.
The journey wraps up at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, where Dalton gets a behind-the-scenes look at how the region’s trout population is raised before heading into waterways across the country.
And of course, no road trip is complete without one last stop — this time at Big Daddy’s Eats & Treats near the dam for a final meal and some well-earned ice cream.
From classic diners and muscle cars to boating, fishing, and Kentucky history, this Lake Cumberland getaway captures the best of one of the state’s most iconic destinations.
