LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- The Belle of Louisville Riverboats has officially kicked off their 111th season cruising America's rivers.
The line up offers a fresh mix of new experiences and returning favorites for history buffs to partygoers.
As a National Historic Landmark, the Belle remains the oldest operating Mississippi-style steamboat in the U.S.
Some of the cruises include:
- #GirlsNightOut (Mary M. Miller): This one’s for the girls! Gather your besties and cruise on the Mary M. Miller, named after the first female riverboat captain in the U.S. Enjoy a live DJ, a fully stocked bar and the best backdrop for a girls’ night to remember.
- Kids Silent Disco Cruise: Who needs a dance floor when you’ve got a river? Kids can groove to their own beat with silent disco headsets.
- #ThrowbackThursday: Enjoy drink specials, vintage vibes and retro pricing as we cruise through the decades. Special editions include 70s Funk, 80s Prom, 90s Grunge, SwiftBoat (for the true Swifties) and Millennial Mash. Dress in your best throwback attire.
- Sunset Cruise: Get unique views of Louisville at golden hour.
- #SundayFunday: Sundays are for sailing, sipping and soaking in the sights.
Belle of Louisville Riverboats are located at Louisville’s wharf at 4th and River Road.
The experiences provide community access to the river and to Louisville’s history.
The fleet includes the two passenger vessels - the Belle of Louisville or Mary M. Miller - and the historic wharf boat, the Mayor Andrew Broaddus, that houses the gift shop.
The Belle remains purely steam-powered and paddlewheel-propelled.
The Belle’s sister vessel, the Mary M. Miller was named after Louisvillian Mary Millicent Miller, the first woman in America to attain her steamboat captain’s license way back in 1884.
