LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky-based band made up of Army soldiers is gaining national attention.

Based at Fort Knox, the band "As You Were" performed at Bourbon and Beyond last weekend, sharing the stage with some music legends like Duran, Duran and The Black Crowes. The band is also scheduled to perform at Louder Than Life this coming weekend. 

The band joined WDRB Mornings Wednesday and talked about their recent success.

The band is made up of U.S. Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, with Sgt. Tom Katsiyiannis on guitar and lead vocals; Sfc. Austin West on guitar; SSG. Abuid Flores on bass, and Staff Sgt. Ryan Kaluza on drums. The four band members are all active-duty soldiers, record their own music, perform top 40 hits, and all have music degrees. 

The band helps to connect America with its Army through the love of music.
