LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Good Folk Fest 2015 makes its return Saturday, November 21 & Sunday, November 22 at the Tim Faulkner Gallery in Portland.
After taking a 3 year break, the event returns for its 5th occasion.
Good Folk Fest is an art and music festival featuring more than 80 local, regional and internationally known outsider, visionary and folk artists and topped off with 18 dynamically diverse musical performers.
Good Folk Fest's mission is to bring to light parallels in old and new traditions of making art and music to express the common bonds that transcend all barriers through raw creative energy and crafty resourcefulness.
Some of the booths will feature the work of artist collectives, like Creative Diversity and StudioWorks.
Both organizations from Louisville provide studio spaces for artists with disabilities.
We have artists using traditional techniques like woodcarver LaVon Williams next to contemporary spray paint artist Spencer Guy.
Good Folk Fest also embraces music to support and enhance the visual art through blues, rock, one man bands, traditional string band music, experimental sound ensembles and other fascinating audio projects.

Admission is $10 each day for adults.
