LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some of the world's most valuable sports memorabilia goes up for sale at the annual Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory Auction. Â It takes place Nov. 14, 2015. Â The entire weekend is filled with activities.
Swing by the museum on Thursday, Nov. 12th (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and Friday, Nov. 13th (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) to get your sports memorabilia items appraised for FREE by Hunt Auctions! This is the only opportunity for visitors to have appraisals done at the museum each year.
Dave Hunt from Hunt Auctions says this year's big auction event includes baseball materials dating from the 19th century to present and ranging in dollar value from $100 - $250,000. The live auction will take place beginning at 11am EST at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory on Saturday, November 14, 2015 with more than (380) lots in total. This year's selection of game bats is once again something to take note of with an exceptional array of highly coveted professional model Hall of Famer bats including: Lajoie, Berra, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Robinson, Clemente, Stargell and Bench. Additionally, the auction will feature art work by renowned artist, Arthur Miller and intricate bronze sculptures. To round out the offerings, a recent discovery of vintage athletic pennants dating 1910-1920 era with several rarities that may be the last surviving examples will be on the auction block. The pennants were brought to Hunt Auctions at a previous Appraisal Fair and are now up for bid. Â Â All auction items will be on display at the museum beginning Thursday, November 12th for the public to enjoy.
