LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The holiday season is in full force which means it's time to start planning to spread for your holiday gatherings!
If you're looking for something to put together, Kroger's got you covered.
All of the ingredients for each recipe can be found at your local Kroger.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium medium orange
- 1 whole apple
- 3 pieces star anise
- 1 tbsp. cloves
- 3 pieces cinnamon sticks
- 1⁄4 cup cranberries
- 2 sprigs rosemary
- 5 cups cups of water
Directions:
- Slice your orange and apple into thin discs. Place them into your simmer pot.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the simmer pot. Feel free to add more or less of certain ingredients to make it to your liking.
- Add 4-5 cups of water to the simmer pot or until all of the ingredients are floating.
- Place your simmer pot over low heat and let it come to a low simmer. Keep the simmer pot on low heat for as long as you wish and add more ingredients as it simmers if you’d like.
- Enjoy the aromas!
Ingredients:
- 1 Honeydew
- 1⁄2 of a Watermelon
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups Red and green grapes
- 1 strawberries
- 1 bag Mini marshmallows
- Additional assorted fruits for kabobs if desired
- 1⁄2 cup blueberries
- 1 cup orange, sliced or in sections
- 1⁄2 cup apple slices
- 1 package skewers
Directions:
- Slice off sections of the honeydew and watermelon and use small holiday cookie cutters to create tops for the kabobs.
Crunchy Veggie Tree with Fresh Ranch Dip
Ingredients:
- 3⁄4 cup Original Sour Cream
- 1⁄4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon flat leaf parsley, chopped
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 1⁄8 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon black pepper, ground
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups cauliflower florets
- 1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes
- 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into short strips
- Other veggies, as desired
Directions:
- For the dip: Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper together in a bowl, until thoroughly combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- On a large serving tray, help the kids arrange the broccoli into a large triangle shape, resembling a Christmas tree. Place cauliflower at the base to create “snow.” Decorate the “tree” with tomatoes (“ornaments”), bell pepper pieces (“tinsel”) and other vegetables as desired.
- Serve vegetables with ranch dip. Refrigerate leftovers.
- Tip: Try using mini cookie cutters to cut bell pepper into stars or other festive shapes.
