LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The year of the fire horse officially started on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.

WDRB's Keith Kaiser stopped by Asia Institute - Crane House before their Luna New Year Gala.

The Lunar New Year Dinner & Auction is on Saturday at the Speed Art Museum. It will feature the tastes, sights, and sounds of the Lunar New Year and including a silent and a live auction.

Participants will enjoy a five-course meal of elevated modern Asian cuisine and signature drinks, wine and Asian-inspired canapés.

Their biggest fundraising event of the year supports educational and programming initiatives to promote understanding of Asian cultures and heritage.

The Lunar New Year is one of the most significant and festive holidays in many Asian cultures.

The year of the Fire Horse is 2026, associated with intense energy, major changes, and a focus on action, freedom, and passion. It is often considered a time of both great opportunity and challenges.
