LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nearly 200 dogs and puppies will be available for adoption on Saturday at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center.

Darryl Isaacs is partnering with the Kentucky Humane Society and Louisville Metro Animal Services for the 2nd annual Hammer's Lou Adopts event.

Isaacs and Alisha Gray joined WDRB Mornings on Wednesday to talk more about the event.

The mega-adoption event aims to find loving homes for each and every one of their adoptable dogs.

KHS and LMAS will be joined by several other local shelters to offer a large variety of dogs and puppies who are looking to be adopted.

Last year, they found homes for 115 dogs, so the team has their eyes set on higher numbers this year!

"It's a great way to come out and see more than just 20 dogs in a shelter," Gray said on WDRB Mornings.

Each dog will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all their shots, and microchipped. Adoption fees will vary by shelter.

Adopters are encouraged to bring their own dogs so they can meet any potential dog siblings.

The event is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 11. Admission is free, and parking is free through Gate 4 if you mention the event.
