LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A local theater group brings Jesus Christ Superstar to Actors Theatre.
Keith Kaiser joins the cast before opening night.
Redline Performing Arts presents a bold new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar.
Redline brings a fresh, emotionally charged approach to the legendary rock opera, which explores the final days of Jesus Christ through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
The production examines faith, power, justice, revolution, media influence, and humanity while honoring the 55 year old score.
The production features a diverse cast of Louisville artists led by Louisville stage veteran Tony Smith as Judas and American Idol alum Cody Martin as Jesus, along with Kimberly Salter and Ashley Dean, who appeared in Redline’s Dreamgirls last year.
