LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Do you have a hard time adapting to daylight saving time? Some struggle with turning the clocks back, while others may struggle with turning them forward.
Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Mar. 10.
Dr. Kevin Trice visited WDRB Mornings on Friday to give us some tips on adjusting our bodies. Daylight savings time can put a toll of your body, making you physically and mentally exhausted. Many people see symptoms of depression and anxiety while trying to adjust.
It normally takes 24 hours to recover from the change, but some people it can take up to 72 hours.
Trice recommended to shift the time you go to bed and the time you wake up by 15-30 minutes every day.
Bedtime with kids can be hard enough. Put daylight saving time into the mix, and it's even harder.
Trice recommended not to medicate them but talk to them and explain what is going on. You could even set your clocks back a few days ahead of the weekend to give them more time to adjust.
