LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Registration opens Thursday for Give for Good Louisville, the area's biggest day of giving.

Give for Good Louisville is an opportunity for organizations to get donations and connect with donors in the community. Vice President Valerie Sickles joined WDRB Mornings on Wednesday to talk about the 11th year of the event.

Fundraising can get expensive, so Give for Good Louisville provides a platform for local organizations to do some cost-effective donating.

501c3 organizations that are in good standing with the IRS, churches, government organizations, veteran organizations and nonprofit organizations can participate in the event.

"These organizations are the backbone of our community," Sickles said. "It is important to help these organizations to keep them going."

Over the last 10 years, more than 160,000 people have donated over $60 million to Give for Good Louisville. In 2023, more than $9 million was raised from over 23,000 donors.

Give for Good Louisville is on Sep. 12. Registration opens Thursday here.
