LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new study from a British company says some adults may be too old for jeans.

CollectPlus says people older than 53 should stop wearing jeans.  Many people surveyed believe jeans are for the younger generation.  But many fashion experts say that anyone of any age can wear jeans as long as they're comfortable.

But many people say they have a tough time finding the perfect pair of jeans.  The survey said one in ten people over 53 try on six pairs and spend five days shopping for a new pair of jeans.  And they say 25 percent of those surveyed said they've never found the perfect pair.

The survey also founds that people usually wait three years before buying new jeans. Many people wear jeans five times before putting them in the wash.

About one in three people would considering wearing jeans to the theater. And one in four would wear jeans to a dinner party. But only about five percent would find it okay to wear jeans to a job interview, wedding or a funeral.

And about 40 percent of adults admit to keeping a pair of tight jeans in their closet in hopes of squeezing into them again one day.
