It's that time of year again when many of us are really starting to notice the earlier sunsets and the later sunrises around our area. The long days of sunlight from Summer have come to an end now that we are officially in Fall and you'll notice a big drop in the amount of daylight we have by the end of this month.

So, just exactly how much daylight do we have right now, and how much are we losing by the time we get to the end of October and until Winter? Well today, we have around 11 hours and 46 mins of daylight. To compare, at the very beginning of last month, we had 12 hours and 44 mins of daylight.

By the time the end of October rolls around on Halloween, we've already lost an additional 1 hour and 11 minutes of daylight, down to 10 hours and 35 mins.

Next thing you know by the time we get to Thanksgiving this year on November 27th, we've dropped under the 10 hour mark to 9 hours and 46 mins of daylight.

The shortest day of the year, which just happens to be right where Winter starts, on December 20th/21st, we've bottomed out at only 9 hours and 30 minutes of daylight.
