How does a lunar eclipse work?
A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth passes directly between the Sun and Moon, creating a gigantic shadow across the moon's surface and turning the Moon a deep reddish-orange.

You can observe a lunar eclipse without any special equipment. All you need is a line of sight to the Moon! For a more dramatic observing experience, seek a dark environment away from bright lights. Binoculars or a telescope can also enhance your view.Â
When To Look
The partial lunar eclipse will begin at 10:33PM on Thursday night and run through 1:51AM on Friday morning. The peak, around 96% covered, will occur at 12:12AM on Friday morning. You'll want to look toward the southeastern sky to see it!Â
Weather looks pretty good tomorrow night as well! There should be a good mix of clouds and clear sky during that time frame. Temperatures will likely be in the 70s! If you get any good images, send them to the WDRB Weather Team!Â
