Before I get into specifics for the Ohio, I wanted to mention a couple other rivers around our area that are already very swollen. First, the East Fork Of White River at Seymour is in minor flood stage and will rise to major flood stage by Sunday. Second, the Rolling Fork near Boston entered action stage and will rapidly come up to major flood stage this weekend. I've included the hydrographs below so you can take a look for yourself.

Now let's address the Ohio that will enter flood stage over the weekend. I hate to say it, but this looks extremely similar to the flooding we experienced back in 2018. On February 26th of 2018, the Ohio River crested downtown at 35.64'. That is the 10th highest crest ever for the McAlpine Upper! Right now, the forecast brings it up to 33.7' on Monday. Since 2018, MSD installed more gates, walls, and pumping stations to help reduce the impacts. As all of that water moves downstream, the McAlpine Lower will also reach moderate flood stage early next week.
