The International Space Station will fly over our area Thursday night! Clouds may get in the way for some of you, but this is one of our best chances to see the ISS recently.Â
The space station will become visible low along the northwestern horizon around 7:07 PM (eastern). It will then rise 68Âş above the horizon which is more than 2/3 of the way up the sky (90Âş is directly up above your head and 0Âş is the flat ground) before disappearing low in the eastern sky. Â
As a cold front moves through our area tonight, more clouds will likely move in, too. The sky should be partly to mostly cloudy during the ISS flyover period, so you may still be able to see the space station between the clouds in the night sky. Watch for a bright light moving across the night sky, and let us know if you see it through the clouds!Â
